At Dormers Wells we value the importance of play. It is through play that our pupils develop a sense of who they are and learn to value the thoughts and feelings of others.
In the nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and provide opportunities for pupils to develop their skills in the following areas-
Personal, social and emotional development
Communication and language
Physical development
Literacy
Maths
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design
We carefully plan and deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum where all learners are valued and encouraged to flourish. You can learn more about this in the curriculum overview section below.
We offer two nursery sessions:
Raza AM- 8:30-11:30
Raza PM- 12:30-3:30 (soft finish from 3:15)
During each session the children are offered a balance of free choice and adult led learning including a guided carpet session. We have a free choice snack station where the pupils can enjoy fruit and milk.
The nursery is a nurturing environment where we build firm foundations for success in education. We can’t wait to start this learning journey with your child!
For each new focus book knowledge organisers and home learning opportunities will be sent home via Class Dojo for parents to share and try out with their children.
In nursery everyday is an opportunity to get active, we use the garden on a daily basis, no matter the weather! Therefore, please ensure your child comes to school with a sun hat during the warm and sunny summer months, a thick and waterproof coat and hat in the winter and wellington boots when it is raining.
